Company Gastrans d.o.o. Novi Sad is the operator of the new Transmission gas pipeline (interconnector) border of Bulgaria – border of Hungary in Serbia, with a length of 403 km and capacity of 12.87 billion cubic meters of natural gas per year, operates under the License for the transportation and management of the Transmission gas pipeline (Decision of the Energy Agency of the Republic of Serbia (AERS) No. 311.01-66/2020-Л-I dated December 30, 2020).
Gas pipeline and related infrastructure (gas metering stations, block valve stations sites) operated by GASTRANS d.o.o. Novi Sad, are an integral part of the national gas transportation network of Serbia, which operates in full compliance with national legislation.
Gas consumption in Serbia is constantly growing: its volume for the period from 2012 to 2020 has increased by 50%, and in the future this figure will only increase.
The Transmission gas pipeline operation makes it possible to diversify the routes of delivery of energy products, significantly strengthens the energy preparedness of Serbia and the region as a whole, and also creates conditions for further gasification of the country and its industrial potential strengthening.
According to preliminary calculations and projections, Serbian budget revenues from transit fees will amount to about 70 million euros per year.
